1992 Corvette Overview
Although being the lowest production year of Corvettes since 1962, the Corvette underwent some major changes while hitting a milestone. 1992 not only marked the new LT1 motor in the Corvette but also the production of the 1 millionth Corvette, which was produced on July 2. The new LT1 motor was no match for the LT5 but offered plenty of power, with 300hp and 330lb-ft of torque. With this new motor Chevy also brought in a fuel cut-off to prevent engine damage if rpm’s exceeded 5850 and an acceleration slip regulator, traction control. The ZR-1 also received badges above the grill and on the front fenders, finally a significant denotation of the base model to the high power ZR-1.
