YENKO, the name alone is enough to get your blood moving. Much like other powerful brands like "Super Sport" or "ZR1" YENKO has always been associated with horsepower and speed. For those of us old enough remember, the YENKO dealership came to fame by installing Chevy Big Block engines into new Camaro's before GM ever did. Just like the stripes on a Tiger, the YENKO iconic fender stripes let everyone know that their muscle cars are not to be messed with.
Specialty Vehicle Engineering out of New Jersey felt the time has come to bring the YENKO back from the past. Based off of the new C7 Grand Sport Corvette, SVE is offering two packages options: 800HP and the monsterous 1,000HP Kit. Starting with the naturally aspirated Grand Sport LT1, SVE then installs its own 2.9-liter supercharger. The block is bored and stroked to 6.8-liters, then modified LT4 cylinder heads are added, and finally forged blue printed internals for maximum durability. Yenko updates the fuel and exhaust systems as well as a bigger throttle body.
With limited production, there is no doubt that these legendary vehicles will find homes quickly. SVE has further plans to equipp other chassis with YENKO performance such as the Camaro and Silverado Truck.
